When Derek and Linda O'Neill first arrived in India conditions were very poor. They were shocked to see the poverty in which people lived — many families lived on the street and in shacks, and they had very little food. The water, which they had to walk miles to get, was dirty and unsanitary. Upon seeing this the O'Neill family discovered their mission in life: to be of selfless service to those who need help. They started by giving the community a well to draw clean drinking water, and a way to nourish themselves by giving them cows, chickens and the means to plant crops and live off the land.

Through the dedication of Derek and Linda's family, the spark of those initial projects helped ignite selfless service in many others, and eventually SQ Foundation grew into existence. We are pleased to report that since 2002, our commitment and work to improve lives in India is growing to reach as many people and animals as possible. SQ Foundation has now established schools, orphanages and built houses in Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Puttaparthi, Bangalore and many more communities throughout India. Additionally, we now also ensure regular deliveries of food and medicine to badly deprived areas, help support animal rescue shelters, and provide funding to several young adults for their college education.

We are excited to be in the initial stages of working with a local team to build a hospital that will offer free medical services to anyone who cannot afford it. Stay tuned for developments on our hospital project.
