Another proud project of SQ Foundation …The Linda O’Neill Memorial Hospital, known locally as the Sri Sai Lakshmi Multi Specialty Hospital and C.T. Scan Centre.
Many residents of the Anantapur region of India, well-known as the birth place of Sri Satya Sai Baba, had to ride a couple of hours in an ambulance, or more often by other means, in order to reach a hospital where care would be available to them. This is a difficult and even life-threatening journey, especially for those in need of emergency critical care. In order to make comprehensive health care available also for those who couldn’t afford it, we began researching the ways and means of building a proper hospital to care for the many who otherwise would not have access to this level of health care.
The Linda O’Neill Memorial Hospital, known locally as the Sri Sai Lakshmi Multi Specialty Hospital and C.T. Scan Centre, officially opened on June 6, 2013. It is a full-service 100-bed hospital for pediatric and health care service for all age groups. During 2014, approximately 4,500 surgical procedures and 58,700 radiological examinations were performed.
With about 15,000 inpatient admissions and 557,000 patient visits annually, this hospital serves their community well, significantly improving the quality of life. The over 100 specialized clinical programs include obstetrics, orthopedics, dental, cardiology, full 24/7 emergency services, neurosurgery, pediatrics, and diagnostics with C.T. Scan. The clinics are outfitted with state-of-the-art diagnostic and procedure equipment, and most importantly, a highly qualified staff of physicians and health care providers.
Besides providing the highest level of health care, its mission is to be a leading source of research and education for the next generation of health care leaders.
